Pano Fimis to the U18 Men’s National Team
The IceDogs organization wants to congratulate Pano Fimis on being one of 14 forwards to be selected onto Team Canada’s U18 roster. The team will be playing at the 2022 IIHF U18 World Championship hosted in Landshut and Kaufbeuren, Germany from April 23-May 1. This is not the first time Pano has represented Canada on the international stage, back in 2020 Pano and his team won a bronze medal at the Youth Winter Olympics.
As team Canada hopes to defend their gold medal from 2021 IIHF World Championship, the team has a total of seven players who have represented team Canada in the past. Canada will have tough competition in the preliminary rounds facing off against Germany, Czechia and the United States, who will be their first opponent on April 23. Over the past 20 years of the Championship, team Canada has medaled in eight, with four of those being gold.
You can follow along on TSN and RDS as they will broadcast all of team Canadas preliminary games and all of the elimination games. Best of luck to Pano and the rest of the team!
