IceDogs Take Down Wolves
Sudbury, ON – The Niagara IceDogs sweep their northern road trip 3-0 and improve to (20-9-1-1) on the season following a 6-3 win over the Sudbury Wolves on Sunday afternoon.
The IceDogs once again continued their streak of hot starts, surging out to a 2-0 lead by the end of the first period. Ethan Czata started it all off wth a pretty play in front of the net to begin the scoring.
Later on in the period, a nice feed set up Blake Arrowsmith – who ripped home his second goal as an IceDog to make it a two-goal lead.
The second period brought goals that came early and often.
Just 12 seconds after Sudbury scored their first goal of the game, Ryan Roobroeck capitalized on a chance in front of the goal and scored to restore the two goal lead. Kevin He also continued his great play, as his goal made it a 4-1 IceDogs lead before Sudbury added a late marker to bring it within two.
After a valiant attempt to come back from Sudbury in the third period – it was Ethan Czata with two final frame goals to complete his hat trick and five point night, earning him first star honours.
The IceDogs will be back in action this coming Thursday with a road matchup against the Barrie Colts at 7:00 pm.
