Levin Scores Twice in Pre-Season Finale
LAKESHORE, ON – The IceDogs fall 5-3 to the Windsor Spitfires Saturday night.
Ryan Roobroeck scored his second of the pre-season on the power-play on a sweet feed by Braidy Wassilyn before the game was five minutes old. Jack Brauti picked up the second assist.
Down 3-1 late in the opening twenty, Mike Levin’s first of two came with help from Wassilyn and Alex Assadourian. In a wide open period, the IceDogs held a 15-14 shots edge.
A scoreless middle period saw the Spitfires turn the tables with 15 of the 25 shots. The combination of Charlie Robertson and Owen Flores kept it a one goal affair.
A Windsor power-play goal early in the third made is 4-2 before Levin’s second, a short-handed effort, cut the disadvantage to one with under seven to play. An empty net goal in the final minute made the final 5-3 in a game where Ben Boudreau’s side held a 38-35 shots advantage.
Next up, the regular season opener in Ottawa Friday night. It’ll be the first of three on the road to kick-off the 2024-25 campaign before the IceDogs home opener, Sunday October 6th at the Meridian Center.
