Kyen Sopa Wins Swiss Cup with SC Bern
The final edition of the Swiss Ice Hockey Cup saw former Niagara IceDogs’ right-winger Kyen Sopa, and SC Bern defeat the ZSC Lions 5-2, Sunday night. The win secured the SC Bern’s third Swiss Ice Hockey Cup title in team history, while Sopa notched two assists over three games in the competition.
In 12 regular-season games with Bern (NL), the 20-year-old native of Flawil, Switzerland has tallied two assists. He has also made 27 appearances on loan with Chaux-de-Fonds HC (SL), collecting 21 points (9G, 12A).
Niagara’s first-round selection (36th overall) in the 2018 Canadian Hockey League Import Draft; Sopa appeared in 85 career-games for the IceDogs, registering 62 points (33G-29A).
