IceDogs Select Ryan Roobroeck With Number 2 Overall Pick

NIAGARA, ON – As announced by owner and GM, Darren DeDobbelaer, the Niagara IceDogs have selected forward Ryan Roobroeck, from London, ON, with the second overall pick in the 2023 OHL Priority Selection Draft presented by Real Canadian Superstore.
The 2007 forward suited up in 28 games this past season for the London Jr. Knights in the Alliance league and recored an impressive 50 goals, 28 assists for 79 points. Roobroeck helped led his team to an OHL Cup appearance and finished the season as the Alliance finalists, ultimately falling to the Waterloo Wolves in the final. Roobroeck weighs in at 6’2 and 182 lbs and is the younger brother of former IceDog Dylan Roobroeck.
He joins former IceDog Pano Fimis as the highest ever selected player in franchise history after Fimis was drafted second overall in the 2020 OHL Priority Selection Draft.
