IceDogs Second Game of the 3 in 3 Weekend
Tonight will be the third game this season that the IceDogs take on their rival the Mississauga Steelheads. The teams have proven to be tough competitors as the IceDogs took game 1 this season, 3-1, and the Steelheads stole a close second game by a score of 3-2.
The Steelheads have welcomed newcomer Ty Collins to the lineup in the last couple of days. Collins is a young forward looking to bring offense to the Steelheads lineup. After being selected in the second round by the Guelph Storm in 2018, Collins collected 16 points in 48 games during the 2018-2019 season. The defensive play of the IceDogs will have to be on show tonight to reel in the young and offensive Steelheads lineup.
Giancarlo Chanton found the back of the net for the first time in his OHL career against the Ottawa 67’s last night. The team is putting a lot of trust in Chanton as he is on a defense pairing with fellow rookie, Landon Cato. Chanton will be looking to build confidence in his offensive ability as he is already at 1 goal and 4 points in the early stages of this season.
Tonight’s game is sponsored by Special Olympics Ontario and they will be hosting a coin collection during the 1st intermission. The OHL and Special Olympics Ontario are hosting a month long online 50-50 draw, ending on November 30th. Visit http://www.specialolympics5050.com/ to purchase.
