IceDogs Look to Even Season Series With Colts
The Niagara IceDogs continue their three-game road trip tonight at the Colts Centre, visiting Barrie for the final time this season.
This evening’s contest marks the sixth and final meeting between the Central Divison rivals.
The rebuilding IceDogs are expected to be without forwards’ Lucas Theriault, Cam Peters, and captain Ivan Lodnia, who continue to battle lower-body injuries.
Barrie, winners of seven of their last ten games, are led on the scoresheet by emerging 2020 NHL Top Prospect, Tyson Forester. The Alliston native’s 72 points (31G, 41A) leads the team in scoring by 29 points. In the Colts last game, they were defeated 8-1 by the Mississauga Steelheads.
Tasked with slowing the Colts’ offensive horsepower, hasn’t been an issue for IceDogs’ netminder Christian Sbaraglia, who owns a (2-0-0) record with a 2.91 goals-against-average and a .917 save percentage in three career appearances against Barrie. Second year forward Jonah De Simone has 14 points (8 goals, 6 assists). In 10 fewer games last season, he had 5 points. In 9 games all time against the Colts, De Simone has one goal, and two assists.
Tonight’s game (7:30 p.m. ET) will be broadcast live on YourTV Niagara, OHL Live, Newstalk 610 CKTB.
Live updates will be provided on the IceDogs’ Twitter page.
