Generals Announce Leadership Group for the 2019-20 Season
Oshawa, ON—The Oshawa Generals are pleased to announce their leadership group for the 2019/2010 season. Kyle MacLean has returned to the Generals lineup and will continue to serve in the captain’s role. Forward Danil Antropov and Defencemen William Ennis and Mitchell Brewer will all serve as assistant captains.
Drafted in the fourth round, seventy-eighth overall in the 2015 OHL Priority Selection, MacLean is skating in his fifth season with Oshawa, where he has spent his entire Ontario Hockey League career. This past year, he had his most successful season on record by more than doubling his point totals reaching the 60-point (18G, 42A) mark. He was the Heart of a General Award winner the last two seasons at team’s annual awards banquet for demonstrating leadership on and off the ice and the sportsmanship he continuously displays.
Antropov is entering his fourth season with the Generals. He is a Generals draft pick, being selected in the first round, sixth overall in the 2016 OHL Priority Selection. Last season, he had his best season to date last season as the Generals made it to the Eastern Conference Finals for the first time since 2015.
Ennis is another General joining the leadership group who has played his entire OHL career with the team. Drafted in the third round, forty-sixth overall in 2016 OHL Priority Selection, he is currently one of the longest tenured Generals on the team. Over his time in Oshawa he has won the Scholastic Award twice (2018, 2019), Fitness Award (2018) and Top Defenceman Award (2019) at the team’s annual awards ceremony at the end of season season.
Brewer is headed into this third season in a Generals uniform. He is another player who is a product of a Generals draft, selected in the first round, fifteenth overall in the 2017 OHL Priority Selection. He is a stable force continuously on the blue line for the team. He has previously won the Generals Rookie of the Year Award and the Community Award for his work with the organization Camp F.A.C.E.S., a charity close to his family.
All four members of the leadership group have played the entirety of their OHL careers with the Generals.
