Generals add Performance Psychologist to hockey operations staff
Oshawa, Ont., – The Oshawa Generals are thrilled to welcome Dr. Dana Sinclair to our hockey operations staff this season.
Dr. Dana Sinclair is a registered psychologist who serves as a consultant for many business organizations and professional sport franchises. She consults for the NHL’s Anaheim Ducks, the NBA’s Portland Trail Blazers, the CFL’s Montreal Alouettes, MLS’s Los Angeles Football Club, IndyCar Racing as well as a number of NHL and Olympic athletes.
She joins the Generals with a wealth of both education and experience, holding a Ph.D. from the University of Ottawa in Sports Psychology as well as a Ph.D. from the University of Cambridge in Experimental Psychology.
The Oshawa Generals want to emphasize that the health and well-being of our players, both physical AND mental, are a number one priority. Dr. Dana Sinclair will be available to our players both in group and individual settings whenever they may need it.
It’s so important for our players to have someone like Dr. Sinclair. Everybody went through a lot during the past 18 months but if you’re an elite athlete you were all but shut off from your craft,” team GM Roger Hunt said. “These players play at a high level under a great deal of scrutiny and pressure from many avenues. Playing well, keeping their grades, living away from home – these are all factors that Dr. Sinclair will make positives and help make our players mentally stronger.”
