Round 3 Game 6: Battle for Bobby Orr Trophy continues on Battalion grounds
North Bay, Ont. – The battle for the Bobby Orr Trophy continues in the Eastern Conference after the North Bay Battalion gave the Oshawa Generals a double overtime upset on their home ice last Friday evening. The series currently sits at 3-2 and today’s game at the North Bay Memorial Gardens will either result in Oshawa heading home with the East Trophy or North Bay tying the series.
In Game Five, the Tribute Communities Centre was filled with electric, #RedHot energy. Oshawa earned three goals from defencemen, including a first OHL goal from Lucas Rodriguez. It was Luca Marrelli, Luca D’Amato, and Luke Torrance who also made an impact on the scoreboard. However, Battalion Ty Nelson had himself a four-point night and sent the Troops home with the victory after more than 80 minutes of hockey.
The Generals were leading this series 3-0 and have not come back since the Battalion finally answered with a win in Game Four. Oshawa injuries from Connor Punnett and Matthew Buckley, two vital pieces in Gen’s success, have not made for an easy second half of the Series. Tonight Oshawa will need to be hot right out of the gate and play a full 60 minutes if they hope to finally put this Series to rest.
Today’s game can be watched on Rogers TV, CHL TV, or you can listen live on Oshawa Generals Radio at http://bit.ly/3NVyu5z. Puck drop is at 2:00 p.m.
