Round 3 Game 3: Generals enter North Bay #RedHot after last night’s victory
North Bay, Ont. – The Oshawa Generals have arrived in North Bay and are settling in for Games Three and Four on the road after a perfect 2-0 sweep on home ice this past weekend at the TCC. Game Three will be this evening at the North Bay Memorial Gardens while game Four will be on Wednesday.
Friday, April 26th kick-started the Eastern Conference Finals Series where the Generals took the 4-2 win. North Bay struck first in the scoring followed by Dalyn Wakely getting on the board to make it 2-0 very quickly. Generals captain Stuart Rolofs earned himself the first star of the game striking twice for the Gens, Calum Ritchie had a pair of assists, and Connor Lockhart had a goal and an assist. It was Jacob Oster in net for Oshawa and after letting the first two shots in he figured it out stopping 24 shots in a row. The Generals proved themselves after coming out victorious after a 2-0 deficit.
Game Two was held on April 28th evening where the boys carried the momentum from Friday into the game. Both teams battled hard and were looking for that first goal to initiate dominance, and it was the Generals opening the scoring late in the first period when Rasmus Kumpulainen fired a shot from the blue line that found its way through traffic and into the back of the net. Oshawa added to the lead in the second as the puck came to Ritchie who fired a shot that Rolofs got his stick on it deflecting the puck past Mike McIvor giving the Gens a 2-0 lead. Beckett Sennecke then finished off the game with an empty net and Oster earned his second career OHL playoff shutout.
Tonight the Battalion will be out for blood as they hope to cut Oshawa’s series lead in half while the Generals look for one more to lead by three. It will be a battle you will not want to miss while the Generals have been proving some of their best hockey during the postseason.
Tonight’s game can be watched on Rogers TV, CHL TV, or you can listen live on Oshawa Generals Radio at http://bit.ly/3NVyu5z. Puck drop is at 7:00 p.m.
