Round 1 Game 4: Oshawa looks to force an upset in Barrie
Oshawa, Ont. – The Oshawa Generals are back at the Sadlon Arena just two days after leaving Barrie with a victory on Tuesday night to gain the series lead 2-1.
The 5-1 game three win was a group effort by the Generals, with a total of 47 shots on Colts Goaltender, Ben West. Oshawa made smart plays, produced quick passes and hopped on loose pucks for the entire 60 minutes. The team had five different goal scorers, including Matthew Buckley, Rasmus Kumpulainen, Calum Ritchie, Connor Punnett and Dylan Roobroeck who sealed the deal with an empty netter. Barrie’s Blair Scott grabbed his first of the playoffs after a clear shot from the point which was sent right over Oster’s shoulder. Cole Beaudoin almost secured another, but the play was almost immediately deemed as offside to rule out the potential second Colts’ goal.
Both teams will be entering game four hungry to win. The Colts have shown the Generals that they are more than the eighth seed and are strong, determined, and tough competition. Giving the Generals a run for their money last Friday with success in game one and a nail-biting game two in Oshawa last Sunday, the Generals woke up for game three and are looking to push that momentum into tonight’s matchup.
This series is surely feeling like playoff hockey and tonight the Colts have the opportunity to tie the series at 2-2 or the Generals can grab that safety win for a chance to end the series Friday night at the TCC.
