OA forward Connor Lockhart acquired from Petes
Oshawa, Ont., – The Oshawa Generals announce they have acquired overage forward Connor Lockhart from the Peterborough Petes. The Generals will send a 3rd-round selection in 2025 and a 5th-round selection in 2027 to the Petes.
Lockhart, from Kanata, Ont., was drafted by the Erie Otters with the 3rd overall pick in the 1st round of the 2019 OHL Priority Selection. Lockhart spent two seasons with the Otters, including his rookie season. In his first year in the OHL, he scored nine goals and 18 assists for 27 points. The following season, he almost doubled his offensive output, amassing 48 points in 64 games, with 23 goals and 25 assists.
At the 2021 NHL Draft, Lockhart was selected 178th overall in the sixth round by the Vancouver Canucks.
Lockhart, now a prospect of the Canucks, was traded to the Peterborough Petes ahead of the 2022-2023 season. Upon joining the Petes, his production continued to increase. Last season, he appeared in 66 regular season games for the Petes, scoring a career-high 29 goals and 50 assists, finishing the year with 79 points. He added another 16 points in 23 playoff games as part of the Petes 2023 OHL Championship run. At the 2023 Memorial Cup, Lockhart added two goals and one assist in five games.
So far this season, the 5.09, 164 lbs winger has appeared in just seven games but has already scored seven points.
