Jacob Oster named OHL’s Goaltender of the Week
Oshawa, Ont., – After several remarkable performances and seeing just over 70 shots in three games, Jacob Oster has been named the OHL’s Goaltender of the Week.
A mid-week game on Dec. 13 in the schedule was no cause for concern as Oster slammed the door on 20 of 22 shots. With the help of an offensive explosion, the team secured the 6-2 win against the Mississauga Steelheads on home ice for all of GensNation to appreciate.
Following just two nights later, the Generals continued their momentum back in Mississauga after a 7-3 final. With Oster remaining calm in between the pipes, he saved 23 of 26 shots, extending the team’s winning streak to four.
The Generals met the Petes for their last game before the Christmas break on Sunday, where they locked in a 5-1 win. Oster continued the team’s winning streak to five after stopping 22 of 23 shots.
After three consecutive games, Oster wrapped up his week by going 3-0 with a 2.00 goals against average and a .915 save percentage. His overall record after 27 regular season games sits at 13-10-3-1, with a 3.14 goals against average and an exceptional .899 save percentage.
