Jack Studnicka Named to Team OHL’s Roster for the 2017 CIBC Canada Russia Series
Oshawa, ON- Generals captain Jack Studnicka has been named to Team OHL’s roster for the CIBC Canada Russia Series. Team OHL will face Team Russia twice beginning on Thursday, November 9th in Owen Sound, ON followed by a game on Monday, November 13th in Sudbury, ON. Studnicka will suit up for the contest in Sudbury.
Selected by the Generals 21st overall in the 2015 OHL Priority Selection, Studnicka (Tecumseh, ON) has registered 26 goals and 66 assists for 92 points in 135 career games with the Generals. In 2017 the Boston Bruins selected him in the second round (53rd overall) of the NHL Draft. He signed a three-year entry level contract with the Bruins in September 2017.
Internationally Studnicka has represented Canada on multiple occasions. He represented Canada at the World Under-17 Hockey Challenge and also was on Team Canada’s roster at the 2016 Ivan Hlinka Memorial Championship and 2017 World Under-18 Championship.

The CIBC Canada Russia Series has been an integral part of the identification process for Team Canada for the past 14 years prior to the IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship. Since the event first began in 2003, CHL teams have played to an overall record of 58-19-1-6. The competitiveness of the rivalry has grown in recent years with four of the last seven series decided in the final game, and with Russia earning three series wins since 2010 compared to the CHL’s four series triumphs over the same period including last season by a 13-5 margin in points.
