Game Recap Attack 7 Gens 1
After showing off some new players in a rough and fast pace game against the Petes yesterday, the Gens continued their pre-season schedule in Owen Sound Labour Day Monday.
The Owen Sound Attack came on strong against a roster of mainly young Generals, Owen Sound would take the game 7-1.
Owen Sound started off quickly, scoring just 2:45 into the game.
Both teams would be involved in aggressiveness leading to the penalty box, but neither side could take anything from it. The 1st period would end with the Attack keeping their one goal lead.
In the second period Owen Sound came out strong to double their score. Jack Studnicka would soon take advantage of a powerplay to land one in Owen Sounds net, Henderson and MacLean would have the assists on the lone goal. After Studnicka’s goal Oshawa’s Daniel Robertson and Owen Sound’s Zachary Roberts would drop their gloves and duke it out, that seemed to do nothing but excite Owen Sound.
Not long after play resumed, Gadjovich would put the Attack up 3-1. After the Attack’s 3rd goal, they would make a scheduled goaltending switch.
Owen Sound would continue to dominate as they would get their 4th goal at 13:52 of the period. It would take 40 seconds before the Attack would score one more, 5-1.
The teams would head into to the 3rd period with Owen Sound dominating. Early on Owen Sound would make it a 6-1 lead and it wouldn’t be long before it became 7-1 for the Attack.
The Generals took many penalties leaving Torchia under protected, as the Attack took advantage of 7 power-plays.
The Generals next exhibition game will be in Kingston against the Frontenacs, on Friday, Sept. 9 with a 7:00pm puck drop.
The Generals next home exhibition game will be Saturday, Sept. 10 at 7:00pm against the Kingston Frontenacs in Ajax.
