Dylan Roobroeck ready take the NHL draft by surprise

Oshawa, Ont. – After a fresh start with a new team, Dylan Roobroeck excelled on and off the ice, setting career highs across the board. Waiting in the wings of Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tenn., Roobroeck is the second Oshawa General anticipated to cross the stage at the 2023 NHL Draft.

Roobroeck appeared in all 68 games with the Generals last season, smashing his career stats with his new team. Roobroeck had been acquired by the Generals from the Niagara IceDogs in the off-season. In his 68 games, Roobroeck scored 15 goals and added 38 points for an impressive 53 points.

The London, Ont., native found his stride with the Generals, carrying a very consistent offense throughout the year while never shying away from physical play – something opposing teams really struggled to defend against. His best game came against the highly-touted Windsor Spitfires, where Roobroeck scored a goal and added three assists for a career-best four-point game.

“I feel as though Dylan had a breakout season with us last year,” said General Manager and Vice President of Business Operations Roger Hunt. “He’s always been a good player, but he needed the opportunity to show it and he has certainly caught the eyes of numerous NHL teams ahead of this draft..”
