Dylan Roobroeck taken 178th by New York Rangers
Oshawa, ON– Dylan Roobroeck has been selected in the 6th round, 178th overall by the New York Rangers, in the 2023 NHL Entry Draft in Nashville, Tenn. Roobroeck joins teammate Calum Ritchie as the second General taken at this year’s draft.
The London, Ont, native was acquired by the Generals’ before the 2022-2023 season began via a trade with the Niagara IceDogs. After joining the Generals, things really started to look up for the centreman.
With the Generals, Roobroeck put up an impressive 53 points, by way of 15 goals and 38 assists in 68 games.
The 6″7 forward will be one of the OHL’s top forwards ahead of the 2023-2024 team and will be a key factor in the Generals’ continued climb back up the standings following an 8th-place finish. One more year on the ice and #GensNation can expect every facet of his game to improve – something the New York Rangers clearly agree with.
