ST. LOUIS CALLS UP DELLA ROVERE
The St. Louis Blues called up former Barrie Colts’ Captain Stefan Della Rovere on Wednesday. The Richmond Hill native has played 20 games for the Blues AHL affiliate in Peoria. Della Rovere recorded three goals, four assists, 22 penalty minutes and a plus-three ranking while playing for the Rivermen.
Originally drafted in the seventh round by the Washington Capitals, Della Rovere was traded to the Blues in July in exchange for tough guy D.J. King. On Tuesday night he made his debut as the Blues hosted the Washington Capitals.
Delly now has an even ranking through three games in the NHL and has seven penalty minutes.
In four seasons in Barrie, Della Rovere amassed 65 goals and 73 assists in 230 games for the Colts, while adding 479 penalty minutes.
The two-time World Junior joins former teammate Alex Pietrangelo who sits fourth in team scoring with 14 points.
