Special Day and Night planned for Easter Seals with the Colts
Saturday will be a special day for Easter Seals with the Barrie Colts. Their day will be opened up with a pancake breakfast tomorrow morning before heading out on the ice to skate with their favourite Barrie Colts.
An annual event held by both Easter Seals and the Barrie Colts has always been a big hit and the tradition will continue tomorrow.
This Saturday October 28th vs. the Mississauga Steelheads the Barrie Colts Community Fund will be making an donation to Easter Seals of $50,000 and brings the total to $89,000 donated within the last 11 years with a lot of help coming from the Barrie Colts annual Golf Tournament.
“Easter Seals is something that has been near and dear to my heart ever since I’ve been a part of the Barrie Colts Hockey Club. Helping out local charities has always been an initiative within the Colts organization and to me especially when you get to sit down and meet some of the people involved” said Colts President and Owner Howie Campbell. “It really makes me emotional when you hear the struggles some of these kids have to deal with, and any way we can help, we will.”
The cheque presentation will take place prior to the game on Saturday evening where Mr. Campbell will be joined alongside Charlene Myke (Development Manager – Easter Seals Ontario) and Kevin Collins (CEO Easter Seals of Ontario) along with Barrie’s four captains (Justin Murray, Lucas Chiodo, Ben Hawerchuk and Joey Keane) for $50,000.
