Emil Hemming Commits to Colts!
The Barrie Colts are proud to announce that Emil Hemming has committed to an OHL Education & Development Agreement!
The 6.01 and 205lb right winger from Vaasa, Finland was recently selected by the Dallas Stars in the 2024 NHL Draft 29th Overall. The Colts selected Hemming 15th overall in the 2024 CHL Import Draft.
“We’re extremely happy to have Emil commit to us here in Barrie. He brings a high-end skillset to our lineup that we feel is going to translate well on a smaller ice surface. His goal-scoring ability and shot we feel are already at a pro level. We’re looking forward to helping him continue his development for Jim Nill & the Dallas Stars.” Commented Head Coach & GM, Marty Williamson.
Hemming played last season professionally for TPS in the Liiga where he registered 11 points (7 goals & 4 assists) in 40 games. While playing at the World Juniors, Hemming registered two assists in seven games at the tournament.
“By coming over to the OHL, we feel the increased ice time and power-play time will greatly help Emil get ready for his dream of being in the NHL” added Williamson.
