Colts Acquire Savard from Saginaw
The Barrie Colts and Saginaw Spirit have completed a trade!
The Colts have acquired 2005-born defenceman, Olivier Savard, and a conditional 2024 3rd Round Selection in exchange for 2003-born defenceman, Braden Haché, and a conditional 2027 15th Round Selection.
“We would like to thank Braden and his family for their commitment to our team. With his time here in Barrie, he made a great impact in our community and our team. We would like to wish him all the best in Saginaw.” Commented Head Coach & GM Marty Williamson.
Savard, a 6.02 and 198lb defenseman from Etobicoke, ON was drafted in the 2nd Round by the Spirit in the 2021 OHL Priority Selection. The blueliner has suited up in 109 games for Saginaw and registered 4 goals, 10 Assists and 85 PIM.
“Olivier is a player we feel that is going to fit our lineup very well. Olivier is a big right-shot defenceman that fits the core of team for the coming years. We’re excited to start working with Olivier here in Barrie and help continue his development” Added Williamson.
