SCHEIFELE RANKED 19TH IN OHL
The NHL announced today their preliminary rankings for draft eligible players in the Ontario Hockey League. Barrie Colts center Mark Scheifele is ranked 19th among skaters in the OHL.
Scheifele, 17, was acquired by the Colts from the Saginaw Spirit in exchange for goalie Mavric Parks. In his first season with the Colts, the Kitchener resident sits second in team scoring with six goals and 14 assists for 20 points in 19 games played.
The 6’2″ pivot was recently named the Academic Player of the Month in the Central Division for the month of October.
The NHL draft goes June 24th at the Xcel Energy Centre in St. Paul, Minnesota.
This weekend the Colts host Sudbury on Thursday night, and Erie on Saturday night, before playing in Oshawa on Sunday.
