Troops invade Erie on Saturday night

BRAMPTON, Ont. – The Troops make their second visit of the season to Pennsylvania to take on the Erie Otters at the Tullio Arena on Saturday night. Game time is 7:30 p.m., and a simulcast feed from the Erie radio broadcast will be available on BattalionHockey.com starting 10 minutes before the opening faceoff.

The Otters, ranked third in the Western Conference, dropped both games of a home-and-home series with Plymouth. Erie lost 3-1 at Plymouth on Wednesday night, and the Whalers edged the Otters 4-3 at Erie on Friday.

Saturday’s meeting will be the fourth of the season between the Troops and Otters. Erie edged the Battalion 4-3 at home on Oct. 12 and, less than a week later, Cory Pecker scored with a minute left in overtime to give the Otters a 7-6 win at the Bunker. In the last game, at Brampton on Jan. 6, Kurt MacSweyn scored at 16:34 of the third period to give the Troops a 7-6 victory. It was Brampton´s first regular season win over the Otters since Feb. 17, 2000.

The Battalion returns home Sunday afternoon to host the Guelph Storm. The Otters will return to Brampton on March 10.
