Troops, ´Dogs clash at Bunker Thursday night

The Troops head into the contest after ending a 10-game losing streak with a 4-2 victory over the hometown Guelph Storm on Tuesday night. Jay McClement and Kamil Kreps each scored a goal and added an assist, while goaltender Joey Biasucci stopped 33 shots to pick up the win. The Battalion is seven points behind the Owen Sound Attack for the eighth and final Western Conference playoff spot.

The ´Dogs, winless in their last 10 games, have lost their last five outings. Mississauga is in last place in the Eastern Conference and has allowed the most goals in the league at 283. Rookie Patrick O´Sullivan leads OHL freshmen in scoring with 26 goals and 46 assists. Import forward Igor Radulov leads OHL rookies in goals with 30.

This will be the teams´ fifth meeting of the season. Kurt MacSweyn scored three goals and added two assists to lead Brampton over Mississauga 7-5 at the Hershey Centre on Oct. 24. The squads battled to a 5-5 tie at the Bunker eight days later, and the Troops won the annual New Year´s Eve clash at the Brampton Centre 5-3. The Battalion won the last meeting, at Mississauga on Jan. 2, 6-3. The Troops are unbeaten in the last 16 meetings and lead the all-time series 17-1-4.
