Battalion selects Czech blueliner in Import Draft
BRAMPTON, Ont. – Battalion director of hockey operations Stan Butler added to his blue line corps Wednesday with the selection of Czech rearguard Martin Lojek with the seventh overall pick in the 2002 CHL Import Draft.

Lojek, who will turn 17 on Aug. 19, spent last season with HC Pardubice Juniors, where he played 54 games, scoring four goals and adding five assists along with 32 penalty minutes.

Lojek, a right-shot defenceman who stands 6´4" and weighs 227 pounds, played for the Czech Republic at the World Under-17 Hockey Challenge in Manitoba last December. He will report for duty at the Bunker in late August, where he will join countryman Kamil Kreps on the Battalion roster.

Lojek becomes the fourth Czech player to be selected by the Battalion in the Import Draft, joining Kreps, Rostislav Klesla and Lukas Havel.
