Battalion schedule released
NORTH BAY, Ont. — The North Bay Battalion plays four games in September, three of them at home, to start the 2025-26 Ontario Hockey League season.
North Bay hosts the Oshawa Generals at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 18, in the curtain raiser before visiting the Sudbury Wolves the next night in their season opener. Two more September home dates on the schedule, which was announced Monday, feature the Ottawa 67’s and Kingston Frontenacs.
The Battalion plays 34 home games, comprising 17 Thursdays, 14 Sundays and one Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The Monday is Thanksgiving Day, against the Owen Sound Attack, and the Wednesday is the New Year’s Eve game, against the Kitchener Rangers.
Within the Eastern Conference’s Central Division, North Bay faces Sudbury eight times and the Barrie Colts, Brampton Steelheads and Niagara IceDogs six times apiece. From the East Division, the Battalion plays Oshawa, Ottawa, Kingston, the Brantford Bulldogs and Peterborough Petes four times each.
In the last two seasons, the Troops have played Ottawa six times and Oshawa only twice, but with the 67’s now meeting the Gatineau Olympiques of the Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League home and away, the Battalion schedule has reverted to its previous formula.
North Bay faces Western Conference foes twice each, except for the Soo Greyhounds, who provide the opposition in four games.
Home games on Thursday and Friday start at 7 p.m., while Sunday home games begin at 2 p.m. An exception is Sunday, Nov. 16, at 3 p.m. because of the Santa Claus parade. The Dec. 31 game starts at 1 p.m., and the Thanksgiving Monday game is a 2 p.m. start.
