67’s bringing country to the capital on Friday Night

This Friday night, we’re bringing country to the capital, for Ottawa 67’s Country Night against the Oshawa Generals, with puck drop slated for 7:00 PM.

While the hockey is always the main attraction, there are a few things happening around The Arena at TD Place before, and during the game that you should look out for:

The Zachary Martin Trio

Venture down the stairs near Gate 1, onto our lower concourse, and head out the doors into our party tent, where the Zachary Martin Trio will be playing live country music pregame, and during intermissions. With a full service drinks bar, heaters in the tent, and the music setting the mood, there’s no better way to pregame for some hockey.

$2.50 Beers

Speaking of pregaming, we’ve got a great deal to get you ready to cheer on the 67’s as we take on the Generals. Grab 355ml cans of Budweiser or Bud Light before the first period ends, or until supplies last, for just $2.50. Once the first period ends, don’t worry, we won’t leave you hanging! We’ll instead transition to our usual Friday night $5 deal.

Mechanical Bull Riding

Think you have what it takes to stay on the bull for the longest? In spirit of our Country Night theme, there will be a mechanical bull at Gate 3 for fans to take their chance at riding the bull.

Food and Merchandise Items of the Game

Our friends at Levy are cooking up a special Double-Down Meatloaf Sandwich for Friday night, with homemade beef meatloaf and a creamy mashed potato filling, topped off with a Caesar ketchup drizzle between two buns, available at select food vendors in the arena. If you’re more in the mood for merch, rather than munch, our Lansdowne Sports stores are open for all your 67’s merchandise needs. Our feature item for Friday night is the 67’s Collegiate Jacket.

A First-Round Rematch vs. Oshawa

Last season saw the 67’s own the season series vs the Gens, with Ottawa losing just one of the eight regular season matchups, before disposing of Oshawa in a five-game series during the first round of the OHL Playoffs. Although the record doesn’t show it, the Generals played the 67’s hard in all of those games, making Ottawa earn every win, and come into this matchup an improved team since last season.

These teams will once again get to know each other very well this season, with another eight matchups on the schedule. Friday night is the first of a home-and-home, seeing the 67’s travel to Oshawa on Saturday for the middle leg of a three-in-three weekend. That puts even more emphasis on starting the weekend out right for the 67’s, and they’ll need your support at TD Place as the games get going on Friday night!
