It’s Country Night at TD Place as 67’s host Generals
Looking for their third straight win, the Ottawa 67’s will throw on their cowboy hats, Friday night, as they host a divisional rival for the first time on the season.
Country Night inside The Arena at TD Place will see what’s sure to be a heated playoff rematch, as the Barber Poles take on the Oshawa Generals. The action gets started at 7:00pm, but the festivities for country fans begin when doors open at 6:00pm, a full list of which can be found here.
Fans not inside the rink can watch live locally on Rogers TV, stream on CHL TV, or hear Kenny Walls call every moment on TSN 1200.
Ottawa enjoyed an offensive explosion, Sunday afternoon, as Luca Pinelli’s first career hat trick paved the way to an 8-3 win. Josh Brady scored his first in the OHL, along with the others from Kaleb Lawrence, Will Gerrior, Frankie Marrelli, and Brad Gardiner, respectively. Collin MacKenzie won his second straight start, and fifth of the season, making a career high 44 saves.
The Gens have also won two straight, most recently hanging a 6-2 score on the Brantford Bulldogs in Sunday night action. A pair of goals from Luke Torrance, and singles from Rasmus Kumpulainen, Luca D’Amato, the debuting Connor Lockhart, and Matthew Buckley paced the Oshawa offence, with OHL Goaltender of the Week Jacob Oster making 31 saves in goal.
Oshawa will certainly be out for a measure of payback; as the 67’s won seven of eight meetings during the 2022-23 season, before bouncing the Generals from the first round of the postseason in five games.
