Officiating Staff Announced for the 2010 MasterCard Memorial Cup

Brandon, MB – The Canadian Hockey League today announced the officiating staff that will work the 2010 MasterCard Memorial Cup in Brandon.  Four referees including two from the Western Hockey League, one from the Ontario Hockey League, and one from the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League have all been assigned for the tournament.  A crew of five linesmen from the WHL will also work the event.

All four referees are making their MasterCard Memorial Cup debut including hometown official Matt Kirk of Brandon, MB, who is joined by fellow WHL referee Pat Smith of Vancouver, BC.  Darcy Burchell of Hamilton, ON, represents the OHL while Nicolas Dutil of Victoriaville, QC, represents the QMJHL.

Chris Carlson of Edmonton, AB, is making his second MasterCard Memorial Cup appearance after skating in Vancouver in 2007.  The other linesmen include Justin Hull of Saanichton, BC, Jeff Jobson of Calgary, AB, Trent Knorr of Powell River, BC, and Kiel Murchison of Burnaby, BC.

All games of the 2010 MasterCard Memorial Cup are broadcast live on Rogers Sportsnet and the NHL Network US.  RDS will carry all games featuring the Moncton Wildcats.
