The Rimouski Oceanic lose two points in the standings
BOUCHERVILLE, Thursday December 29, 2016 – The Commissioner of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, Gilles Courteau, announced that the Rimouski Oceanic will lose two points in the standings, after utilizing a suspended player during their game against the Chicoutimi Saguenéens on Wednesday December 28.
During that game, the Oceanic had in its lineup player Daniel Hardie who was suspended 1 game for a slew foot incident on December 18.
As stated in Rule 10 of the Player’s Qualifications “If a team plays with a non-qualified player [… Player who is not qualified because of an automatic suspension or a suspension imposed by the League; … ] the win and the acquired points in the standings shall be deducted and given to the opponent (maximum of two points).
The individual statistics of the game remain unchanged. The Oceanic won the game 7-0.
