Scholastic Players of the Month | Remi Delafontaine Profile
Remi Delafontaine officially joined the Cape Breton Eagles last September after being acquired via trade during the 2020-21 season.
We quickly realized how focused the 17-year-old goaltender was on his studies. Registered with CÉGEP à Distance, Remi’s hard work and positive attitude do not go unnoticed in class.
So far this year, he has been able to complete two courses and is currently finalizing registration for two more for the winter semester.
This season, like others, has not been without its challenges. However, Remi has not let that get in the way of reaching his goals.
The goaltender took advantage of the time off he had over the last month and focused on completing his studies. As we now return to play, that work completed ahead of time will pay off as Remi will soon be balancing both academics and hockey again.
Remi has shown a great deal of growth through the fall session of school. Being in his first year in the QMJHL, he has developed the initial strategies to balance both hockey and academics quite well. He has dealt with the adversity with a positive attitude and has moved forward to complete his courses on time.
Remi’s an absolute pleasure to work with and can take great pride in being named the Eagles’ Scholastic Player of the Month for January.
