Samuel Harvey is the VAUGHN Goaltender of the Month – November 2018
This latest VAUGHN Goaltender of the Month in the QMJHL is Samuel Harvey of the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies.
During the month of November, the 20-year-old from Alma, Quebec posted a 6-1 record along with a goals against average of 1.91 and a .930% save percentage. His stellar play between the pipes played a vital role in the Huskies’ ability to maintain top position in the league’s overall standings.
Harvey allowed two goals or fewer in four starts during the month, while also riding a six-game winning streak to start the November period. Among the highlights for the fifth-year veteran were a 28-save performance against the Gatineau Olympiques on November 3rd and a 33-save effort versus the Baie-Comeau Drakkar’s high scoring offence on November 8th.
A second round selection of Rouyn-Noranda in the 2014 QMJHL Entry Draft as well as a member of the 2016 President Cup Champion Huskies squad, Harvey currently finds himself second in the “Q” with a 2.18 goals against average and third in save percentage with a mark of .921%. His 14 victories place him in a tie for second overall in the league. Harvey was invited to NHL training camp with the Montreal Canadiens prior to the 2018 season.
