Road to the QMJHL Entry Draft | February 2023 Prospects
Robin Benoit – Forward – Bakersfield Roughnecks
Originally from Lac St-Jean, Quebec, Robin opted to move south of the border to play in the USPHL in 2022-23. A centerman with a good frame, he has great puck handling and shooting skills, and has displayed an above average hockey sense on the offensive side of things. Benoit has averaged just over a point per game in recent seasons, at all levels in which he’s played.
He still needs to refine his skating and to work on his explosion, as well as improve his play without the puck and his consistency. In addition to excelling at hockey, Robin is an elite level golfer who competed in last summer’s Quebec Games in that sport.

Benjamin Bertrand – Defenseman – Gatineau Intrépide
Benjamin Bertrand has proven to be a defenseman who is responsible defensively since the beginning of the season. Despite a difficult first half of the season for his team, he still managed to post a good +/- differential. His physical strength and his strong skating are his best assets.
The defenseman wins the vast majority of his one-on-one battles and always looks to protect both his goaltender and the front of his net. As he continues to learn and progress, he keeps making the most of his opportunities with his powerful shot.

Hudson Bradley – Goaltender – Charlottetown Knights
Hudson’s excellent positioning is very noticeable by the fact that he doesn’t have to move a lot to make most saves. He has demonstrated good anticipation of how plays will develop. Always square to the puck, he likes to position himself at the top of the crease, making most saves look easy. Hudson effectively holds on to the puck and doesn’t give many rebounds unnecessarily.
The netminder has a calm demeanor and appears to play well under pressure and in close games. Solid in all areas, he moves well around the crease but can still improve his leg strength to be more explosive from side to side. With his good puck-handling skills, Hudson does not hesitate to play the puck to help his defensemen – a definite asset he should continue to develop.

Eliot Dubé – Forward – Collège Notre-Dame Albatros
Dubé is a forward who has a lot of maturity in his game. He has good size and uses it to his advantage, both in puck protection and while forechecking. He is a hard worker with an above average hockey IQ.
The forward has seen his responsibilities increase lately as his coach trusts him as much on the power play as he does on the penalty kill. Offensively, it will be interesting to follow his progression between the end of the regular season and the playoffs.

Declan Kennedy – Forward – Pinnacle Growlers
Declan Kennedy is a centreman who can do a little bit of everything for the Pinnacle Growlers. A terrific skater, he always competes hard for pucks and has been excellent on the penalty kill during the 2022-23 season. Kennedy is a player who has matured and gotten better every game this past year.
At 5-foot-9 and 165 pounds, the 15-year-old still has plenty of room to grow, which bodes well for his gritty style of play. After finishing seventh in regular season scoring for the top-ranked Growlers with 19 points in 29 games, the rookie currently sits tied for third on the team with a point per game in the playoffs.

Luc Legere – Forward – Halifax Mac’s
Luc is a big bodied two-way forward who combines a good mix of skill, hockey sense and work ethic. He is a smart and reliable player who has shown that he has a good understanding of the game. Luc has been a key contributor for Halifax this year, being asked to play in all situations for the team as a first-year player.
He has shown his willingness to block shots on the penalty kill and has consistently shown up each night with grit and a solid work ethic. He also has a good shot and skill set, which he has used to contribute offensively this year. Luc has shown that he can get it done at both ends of the ice, and that he has all the tools to be successful at the next level.

Landon Paul – Forward – Kimball Union Academy Wildcats
Paul is a dynamic and intense two-way forward with a great combination of speed and strength. His skill set stands out and allows him to get around his opponents with the puck with ease. He has a good vision of the game and can stickhandle the puck well. He’s also strong on his feet, and tough to knock off the puck.
In addition, he has a strong work ethic that’s consistent throughout the game. Paul’s ability of being able to contribute offensively while being physically imposing makes him a very interesting prospect for the upcoming QMJHL draft.

Guillaume Tremblay – Defenseman – Jonquière Élites
Guillaume has several assets that could make him an interesting pick in the upcoming draft. Although he doesn’t have the biggest frame, the Jonquière defenseman is fearless in his play; he has character, plays with a lot of grit, and he competes every time he’s on the ice.
Guillaume also has a good skating stride. He loves to carry the puck and also stands out in one-on-one situations. To excel at the next level, the blueliner will need to better recognize different situations, to avoid overdoing things, and simplify his game.
- Katerine Aubry-Hébert, CSR Scout

Nathan Wright – Defenseman – Collège Esther-Blondin Phénix
Nathan is a mobile defender who has the perfect physique for the job. He is very effective in one-on-one battles as he likes to play rough with his opponents. He’s shown a lot of character and is very difficult to play against.
Lately, his coach has been giving him more and more responsibilities. He is being used on the power play because he has a good shot from the point that hits the target with regularity. He has made great progress throughout the season, and it will be interesting to follow his development in the playoffs.
