REGULAR SEASON SUMMARY
The Blainville-Boisbriand Armada squad showed it was a force to reckon with right from the get-go in the 2017-18 season. Joël Bouchard’s team climbed all the way to the top of the overall standings as well as in the goals for column (262), in part thanks to it’s league-leading power play (28,1%). Even if it was clear the Armada could score goals, that didn’t prevent the team from playing a strong defensive game, as displayed the 182 goals it surrendered over the past season, the fourth least in the league. Veteran Alex Barré-Boulet and his line mate, team captain Alexandre Alain, respectively put up 103 and 85 points apiece to take the first and third spot among the league’s top scorers. By doing so, they helped the Armada clinch its first regular season championship in franchise history. Following a sweep against the Saint John Sea Dogs in last season’s President Cup final, it is a hungry Blainville-Boisbriand squad that we’ll need to keep a close eye on in this year’s playoff run.
