QMJHL Players of the Month | November 2022
- Forward of the Month
Jordan Dumais – Halifax Mooseheads – 13GP, 7G, 20A, 27Pts
For the second month in a row, Jordan Dumais continues to set the league on fire. The 18-year-old from L’Île-Bizard, Quebec equaled his October point total thanks to a handful of impressive outings for the Maritimes Division leading Mooseheads. His month included a pair of six-point outings on November 8 and 18, versus Moncton and Saint John, respectively. The latter of these two performances included a hat trick, one of two the veteran winger registered during the month. Overall, the 2022 Columbus Blue Jackets draftee registered seven multi-point contests in November, giving him 16 such games on the season already.
With a league-leading 54 points (19G-35A) in just 25 games so far, Dumais is looking to smash the 109-point campaign he put up last season. Only Regina Pats standout forward Connor Bedard (26GP-24G-33A-57Pts) has more points than Dumais across the entire Canadian Hockey League this season.
Honorable Mention
Alexandre Doucet – Val-d’Or Foreurs – 11GP, 13G, 7A, 20Pts

- Defenseman of the Month
Pier-Olivier Roy – Victoriaville Tigres – 11GP, 0G, 14A, 14Pts
With the holidays approaching, Pier-Olivier Roy is most certainly in a giving mood. His work as an offensive catalyst on the backend of a Tigres team that has turned heads throughout the CHL has led to a resurgence in Victoriaville. On offense, the club has enjoyed a number of stellar performances, many coming from its third-year star rearguard. Roy put together five multi-point efforts in November, including four such games in a row. His three assists against the league leading Quebec Remparts on the 24th represents a season high. Defensively, the club is as airtight as any in the league and, once again, Roy stands out, recording a +/- rating of even or better in ten of eleven contests in November.
The seventh overall selection at the 2020 QMJHL Draft and a key member of Victoriaville’s 2021 President Cup Championship squad, Roy currently sits second in the league among defensemen with 29 points in 26 games. His 28 assists are the most among all blueliners.
Honorable Mention
Tristan Luneau – Gatineau Olympiques – 11GP, 5G, 10A, 15Pts

- Goaltender of the Month
Nathan Darveau – Victoriaville Tigres – 8-1-0-1, 1.53 GAA, .960 SV%, 1 SO
Much like the team he plays for, Nathan Darveau has become one of the best stories to emerge from the QMJHL so far this season. November saw the 19-year-old from Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec reel off a pair of four-game personal win streaks, the first of which began with a 24-save shutout against Val-d’Or on November 4. In all eight of his victories on the month, Darveau’s save percentage never dipped below .944%. On seven occasions, the third-year veteran kicked aside at least 32 shots in a game, including a 40-save performance against Blainville-Boisbriand on the 11th and a 41-save clinic versus Cape Breton on the 30th.
An 11th round selection of the Tigres at the 2019 QMJHL Draft, Darveau currently sits fourth among the league leaders in save percentage and wins. The author of 15 career wins entering this year, he has already posted 12 on the season as the calendar turns to December.
Honorable Mention
Samuel St-Hilaire – Sherbrooke Phœnix – 6-1-0-1, 1.46 GAA, .941 SV%, 1 SO

- Rookie of the Month
Samuel St-Hilaire – Sherbrooke Phœnix – 6-1-0-1, 1.46 GAA, .941 SV%, 1 SO
An honorable mention for Rookie of the Month honors in October, Samuel St-Hilaire has kicked things up a notch in his second full month in the league. The 18-year-old from St-Elzeard-de-Beauce, Quebec started the month in style, steering aside all 22 shots directed his way for his first career QMJHL shutout in a victory over Val-d’Or on November 3. Perhaps his most pivotal victory was a 19-save performance on the 20th against the Quebec Remparts in a battle between the top two clubs in the circuit. That triumph was part of a four-game personal win streak for St-Hilaire.
A ninth-round selection of the Phœnix at the 2020 QMJHL Draft, St-Hilaire enters December with a record of 10-2-0-1 and a 1.51 goals against average, good for fourth in the league in that category. Last season, he suited up for the Levis Chevaliers in the Quebec U18 AAA ranks, where he led the league in both GAA and save percentage.
Honorable Mention
Olivier Houde – Cape Breton Eagles – 13GP, 5G, 11A, 16Pts
