#Our18 : 3 questions facing Acadie-Bathurst Titan
The Titan is celebrating its 20th Anniversary in Bathurst this season. What does the team have in store to help commemorate it this year?
“We have some special nights planned where we will be celebrating some of our former stars of the past, our President Cup winning team, our team ambassadors and team founders throughout the season,” explained Titan general manager Sylvain Couturier. “It will be a nice tribute to the history of the team. It’s going to be a great initiative for our franchise and will give a boost to our marketing efforts as well.”
The Titan is coming off an 18-point and then 24-point improvement in the standings over the past two seasons, what are your expectations for 2017-18?
“We’re striving for continuity above everything else,” explained Couturier. “When our new ownership took over four years ago, we started back from square one. We put a plan in place and gave ourselves three years to get ourselves back on the right track. We had a few really good drafts and then the arrival of head coach Mario Pouliot also changed our whole team dynamic. We are now a solid organization and we are expecting a good season this year. We are confident about that.”
This season for the Titan will be considered a successful one if….
“We focus on the process. On the ice we will take it game by game as cliché as that sounds it’s the truth,” said Couturier. “We have pretty high expectations for this season. To me a good season is one where you win your last game, that’s for sure. But until then, we need to take this step by step.”
