Islanders pummel Wildcats in game two of back-to-back
Francois Beauchemin opened the scoring just 55 seconds into the game on Friday night and it was all Islanders after that.
Beauchemin added three more while Filip Chlapik had a hat trick as the Charlottetown Islanders defeated the Moncton Wildcats by a score of 13-2 at the Eastlink Centre.
The night before, the two teams played in Moncton with the Islanders winning 8-5.
In total, 12 Islanders had multipoint nights. Only four were left pointless.

The Islanders scored five goals in the first period, three in the second period and finished with five in the third period.
After his four-goal night, Beauchemin was giving his linemates (Sprong and Dostie) all the credit.
“It’s easy to play with Sprong and Dostie. We’re beginning to play really good with each other and everything was going good. I was happy with tonight.”
As a 20-year-old, Beauchemin was traded from the Val-d’Or Foreurs to Charlottetown before the closing of the trade period. It took some time, but things have been going really well.
“At the beginning it was a little tougher but now with a good group of leaders and teammates, things are good. If we play 60 minutes and follow the game plan we will win.”
The final shots on goal were 44-17 for Charlottetown with Mark Grametbauer picking up the win in goal.
This is the Islanders third win in a row. In those three wins, the Islanders have outscored their opponent 28-8.
