2026-27 CHL Top-10 Rankings: Week 3
The Ontario Hockey League’s (OHL) Guelph Storm (4-2-0-0) return to No. 1 in the Canadian Hockey League’s (CHL) Week 3 Top-10 Rankings for the 2026-27 season after four consecutive wins.
The Québec Remparts (5-1-0-0) of the Québec Maritimes Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) climb to No. 2 after extending their winning streak to five games, while the Western Hockey League’s (WHL) Victoria Royals (3-1-0-0) sit third following their first loss of the season.
The Moncton Wildcats (5-1-0-0) move up to No. 6 despite seeing their season-opening winning streak ending at five. Three teams make their first appearance in this season’s rankings: the unbeaten Spokane Chiefs (5-0-0-0) at No. 8 and Sudbury Wolves (5-0-0-0) at No. 9, followed by the QMJHL-leading Rimouski Océanic (5-1-1-0) at No. 10.

1. Guelph Storm (OHL): The Storm have outscored opponents 21-3 during their four-game winning streak, capped by a 4-2 victory over Windsor on Friday and a 6-0 win over Kitchener on Sunday. Carolina Hurricanes prospect Zach Jovanovski has yet to allow a goal this season, making 19 saves against the Rangers for his second consecutive shutout. Ben Hrebik stopped 23 shots in the win over the Spitfires. Toronto Maple Leafs prospect Tyler Hopkins led Guelph with three goals and an assist over the weekend, while Chicago Blackhawks prospect Ryan Roobroeck and Columbus Blue Jackets prospect Owen Griffin also collected four points apiece. Roobroeck scored twice, and Griffin added a goal as the Storm reached double digits in goals for a second straight weekend. The Storm now face Owen Sound in a home-and-home series, beginning Friday in Guelph.

2. Québec Remparts (QMJHL): Québec extended its winning streak to five games with a two-game sweep of the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada, winning 4-3 on Friday before a 7-0 victory on Sunday. Nikita Ovcharov’s hat trick powered the shutout win, while Egan Beveridge scored twice Sunday to finish the weekend with three goals of his own. Patrick Déniger recorded his first shutout of the season, and James Scantlebury continued his productive start with a goal and an assist over the two games. The rookie has six goals and nine points through six appearances. The Remparts face another demanding weekend at home, hosting Cape Breton on Saturday before welcoming the Chicoutimi Saguenéens on Sunday.

3. Victoria Royals (WHL): Dallas Stars prospect Cameron Schmidt made an immediate impact on his return to Victoria, scoring twice and adding an assist in Friday’s 5-4 win over Swift Current. His second goal proved to be the winner as the Royals improved to 3-0. Their perfect start ended Sunday with a 6-2 loss to Brandon. Schmidt finished the weekend with four points, while Savin Virk and Odin Vauhkonen each contributed a goal and two assists. Columbus Blue Jackets prospect Filip Novak also reached a milestone with his first WHL goal against the Broncos. Victoria’s next test comes on the road against Medicine Hat on Saturday and Calgary on Monday, with both opponents entering the week at 4-1-0-0.

4. London Knights (OHL): London’s unbeaten start ended Sunday with a 7-2 loss to Flint, two days after a 4-1 win over North Bay. 2025 Vancouver Canucks second-rounder Aleksei Medvedev made 39 saves against the Battalion, and Thomas Zocco scored the winner before adding another goal against the Firebirds. The weekend also brought milestones for two newcomers. Anaheim Ducks prospect Marcus Nordmark scored his first OHL goal Friday, while Vegas Golden Knights first-round pick Juho Piiparinen did the same Sunday. Ottawa Senators first-rounder Jaxon Cover marked his return with his first goal of the season against North Bay. Now 4-1-0-0, the Knights have one game on the schedule this week: a Friday home matchup with Erie.

5. Medicine Hat Tigers (WHL): Pittsburgh Penguins prospect Markus Ruck’s two goals and an assist led Medicine Hat to a 4-2 win over Prince Albert on Saturday, lifting the Tigers to 4-1-0-0. Ruck earned first-star honours, while his brother and 2026 Penguins first-round pick Liam Ruck added two assists in the team’s only game of the weekend. Reily Pickford scored his first WHL goal, Gavin Kor also found the net, and Carter Casey made 23 saves. Pickford and fellow defenceman Tyson Moss each have five points through five games, giving the Tigers production from the blue line. Medicine Hat stays home this week to host Edmonton on Friday and third-ranked Victoria on Saturday.

6. Moncton Wildcats (QMJHL): Moncton’s knack for winning close games continued Friday, when Liam Kilfoil scored 16 seconds into overtime to secure a 4-3 victory over Halifax. It was the Wildcats’ fourth win beyond regulation this season, and all five victories have come by one goal. Their unbeaten run ended Sunday with a 4-2 loss at Cape Breton, leaving them at 5-1-0-0. Niko Tournas scored twice Friday to reach seven goals on the season. Kilfoil, Shayne Gould and Anaheim Ducks prospect Rian Chudzinski share the team scoring lead with nine points each, while Spencer Thornborough scored his first QMJHL goal Sunday. The Wildcats begin a four-game homestand this week, hosting Drummondville on Thursday and Rouyn-Noranda on Saturday.

7. Saint John Sea Dogs (QMJHL): Saint John turned a pair of close games into four points, beating Cape Breton 4-3 in a shootout Friday and Halifax 4-3 in overtime Sunday. Dylan Rozzi’s fifth goal of the season forced extra time against the Eagles before Jamie Glance and Alexander Donovan converted in the shootout. Brandon Delarosbil then scored 30 seconds into overtime against the Mooseheads to lift the Sea Dogs to 3-1-1-1. Glance had three assists Sunday, while Matyas Cancik scored his first QMJHL goal. Alexis Joseph added a goal and an assist in that game, bringing his season totals to two goals and four assists in six games. Joseph was among the first four players named to Team CHL for the 2026 CHL USA Prospects Challenge presented by Primaris. Buffalo Sabres prospect Samuel Meloche stopped 63 of 69 shots across the two wins. Saint John’s homestand continues with visits from Rouyn-Noranda, Charlottetown and Drummondville.

8. Spokane Chiefs (WHL): The Chiefs are 5-0 for the first time in franchise history after sweeping a three-game road weekend. Spokane beat Portland 6-1 on Friday and 3-1 on Saturday before defeating Everett 3-1 on Sunday. The Chiefs join Sudbury as the CHL’s only remaining undefeated teams. Brody Gillespie led the offence with four goals over the three games. Carter Esler earned WHL Goaltender of the Week honours after stopping 49 of 51 shots in two wins; he is 4-0 with a 1.47 goals-against average and .935 save percentage this season. Bryce Francisco made 29 saves in his WHL debut Saturday to complete the weekend’s strong work in net. Spokane returns home to face Lethbridge on Friday and Everett on Saturday.

9. Sudbury Wolves (OHL): Sudbury’s franchise-best 5-0 start continued with a 7-1 win over Niagara on Friday. The Wolves scored six times in the third period and went 5-for-7 on the power play, with Ottawa Senators prospect Adam Nemec leading the way with a goal and four assists. Jean-Cristoph Lemieux and Los Angeles Kings prospect Jan Chovan each added four points. Overage goaltender Paolo Frasca has been central to that perfect start. He has allowed just six goals through five games, posting a 1.20 goals-against average, .958 save percentage and one shutout. The Wolves head to North Bay on Thursday for the next instalment of their Highway 17 rivalry before returning home to host Peterborough on Friday.

10. Rimouski Océanic (QMJHL): Rimouski enters the rankings with a league-leading 42 goals and 11 points in the standings. The Océanic’s offence was on display again Sunday in an 8-5 win over Charlottetown, when they scored five times in the third period to improve to 5-1-1-0. Captain Mathys Dubé has 13 points through seven games, tied for the QMJHL scoring lead. Caiden Pellegrino and Maxmilian Mares have nine points apiece, while A.J. Schaaf has eight points in six appearances. Morgan Blackwood has won all three of his starts, posting a 2.33 goals-against average and .917 save percentage. Rimouski hosts Newfoundland on Friday and Saturday.
