150 QMJHL Alumni among U SPORTS hockey programs
Boucherville, QC – A total of 150 Quebec Major Junior Hockey League alumni are currently playing for a Canadian University.
The group includes 39 players who competed in the league last season and moved on to U SPORTS. The Cape Breton Eagles lead the way with four of their former players listed, followed by seven QMJHL clubs with three each, including Baie-Comeau, Blainville-Boisbriand, Charlottetown, Chicoutimi, Halifax, Quebec and Saint John.
Seventeen schools in Quebec, the Maritimes and Ontario are represented, with no less than 24 QMJHL alumni attending the University of Quebec in Trois-Rivières, 18 that are at Moncton University, 17 enrolled at McGill University, while Saint Mary’s and Concordia count 15 apiece.
