Alexandre Vincent receives five game suspension
BOUCHERVILLE, Tuesday, April 25, 2006 (QMJHL) The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League disciplinary committee today imposed a five game suspension to Chicoutimi Saguenéens goaltender Alexandre Vincent.
The suspension follows an incident which occurred last April 14, in game five of the Olympiques vs. Saguenéens playoff series. Following the contest, Vincent threw his hockey stick into the stands, which could have injured a spectator.
The decision was rendered after viewing the videotape of the incident and consulting all parties. The suspension will begin at the start of the 2006-07 season.
In accordance with the QMJHL's policy in the matter of disciplinary sanctions, the disciplinary committee will not be available for further comment.
