67’s Move to Top Spot
The Ottawa 67's of the Ontario Hockey League are the top ranked team in this week’s BMO Bank of Montreal Top Ten Rankings. The weekly rankings are selected by a panel of National Hockey League scouts.
The 67's become the fourth team this season to be listed in the top spot in the weekly BMO Bank of Montreal Top Ten. Ottawa has won three games in a row and in their last ten starts they have nine wins and a loss. Overall this season the 67's have a won-lost-tied-overtime lost record of 21-4-2-0 and have been ranked eight of the nine weeks of this season’s BMO Bank of Montreal Top Ten. In play this week Ottawa will host the London Knights on Friday and then play host to the Hull Olympiques in an inter league game between the OHL and the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.
The Red Deer Rebels of the Western Hockey League are the number two team in this week’s BMO Bank of Montreal Top Ten Rankings. The Rebels had a seven game winning streak come to an end last Friday when they lost 2-1 to the visiting Saskatoon Blades. Red Deer rebounded on Sunday to defeat the Moose Jaw Warriors 5-4 to post a .500 week. The Rebels have a busy week on the road this week as they visit the Prince Albert Raiders on Wednesday and then travel to Brandon on Friday face the number four ranked Wheat Kings. Red Deer has weekend games in Regina against the Pats on Saturday and in Swift Current against the Broncos on Sunday.
The Val-d’Or Foreurs of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League are ranked third in the ninth BMO Bank of Montreal rankings of the season. Last week the Foreurs split a pair of home games defeating the Rimouski Oceanic 6-1 and losing 5-4 to the Chicoutimi Sagueneens. This week Val-d’Or travels to the Atlantic Division to face the Moncton Wildcats on Friday, the Halifax Mooseheads on Saturday and the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles on Sunday.
