Wildcats explode on the Eagles
The Moncton Wildcats scored a season high 12 goals in thumping the Cape Breton Screaming 12-2 in front of 4,578 at the Coliseum.
Conor Garland and Ryan Penny each netted a hat trick as the Cats beat the Eagles for the 7th time this season. Chris Lalonde scored twice and added 3 assist, while Alex Saulnier also scored 2, singles for Ivan Barbashev(1g 2a) and Dmitrij Jaskin (1g 1a). Yannick Veilleux and Phillip Danault contributed 3 assists each.
Moncton wins for the fourth time in a row, holding period leads of 3-0 and 9-0.
Cole Holowenko gets the win , while David Honzik suffers the loss, as the Cats out shot CB 39-23.
Moncton plays the next four on the road, starting with a matchup vs Rimouski on Friday night. The game will be broadcast on Sportsnet and NEWS 91.9 beginning at 8pm.
