Wildcats explode against Shawinigan
The Moncton Wildcats flexed some offensive muscle at the expense of the Shawinigan Cataractes, Friday night, to the tone of 11-2 at the Moncton Colisiem.
The Cat line of Allain Saulnier (3g 2a), Alex Saulnier ( 1g 2a) and Yannick Veilleux (2g 1a) lead the charge in Moncton’s biggest offensive output of the season.
Dmitri Jaskin (1g 2a), Kris Hodge (1g 2a), James Melindy (1g 1a), Chris Lalonde (1g 1a) and Jonathon Racine also scored , as the Cats held period lead of 3-1 and 6-1.
The special teams were clicking as the Wildcats scored 3 times on the powerplay and 3 times while shorthanded. Moncton collects their 10th win of the season and has sole possession of 3rd place in the Maritime Division. Moncton out shot Shawinigan 51-22. Alex Dubeau with the win between the pipes.
The Wildcats continue at home Saturday when the host the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada at 7pm.
