Screaming Eagles Dominate Moncton 10-2
The Moncton Wildcats suffered their worst defeat this season as the hometown Screaming Eagles dominated the Cats 10-2 at Centre 200 in Sydney. The Eagles led 2-0 after one period and went on to score five goals in the second, and three more in the third.
Starting goaltender Keven Bouchard was replaced by Blade Mann-Dixon after the fourth Eagles goal. Tonight, Conor Garland reached the 100 point mark in only his 42nd game, making it his second consecutive season reaching that milestone. He recorded his 29th goal of the season and had an assist on Donaghey’s goal, which was Cody’s 5th of the season and first in a Wildcats jersey.
Moncton was on a 12-game point streak-with 10 wins prior to tonight’s loss. The Wildcats are 30-11-5-1 atop the Maritime Division as they head to Sherbrooke Friday and Drummondville Saturday for a pair of weekend road games. The Wildcats will then return home to host Halifax and Bathurst during Timbit Weekend Saturday, January 30th and Sunday, January 31st at the Coliseum.
