Cats lose again by a goal
Moncton, NB – A third period goal by Olivier Guilbault, his second of the night, gave the visiting St. John’s Fog Devils a 3-2 win over the Moncton Wildcats Thursday night.

Guilbault got the games first goal at 1:49 of the first period, Mario Kempe added another for St. John’s at 10:18 and the Fog Devils had a 2-0 lead after 20 minutes.

In the second period, with a two man advantage, Matt Marquardt scored his 8th of the season with assists from Matt Eagles and Phil Mangan at 5:41, then at 7:09 Randy Cameron scored to even the game at 2-2, Mark Barberio got the assist.

Guilbault’s winning goal came at 7:24 of the final frame with T.J. Brennan assisting. The Wildcats out shot the Fog Devils in all three periods with the final tally 39-23. On the power play, St. John’s was 0 for 2, while the Wildcats were 2 for 6.

Guilbault got the nod as the games first star; Randy Cameron of the Wildcats was named the second star, with St. John’s goaltender Timo Pielmeier getting star number three.

The Wildcats face a major test on Friday night when they host the League leading Cape Breton Screaming Eagles in a 7 o’clock game at the Coliseum.
