Wildcats Opening Weekend set for SEP 28 & 29
To say expectations are high for the 2024-2025 Moncton Wildcats is an understatement.
The Cats start the season ranked 4th in the CHL and 1st in the QMJHL. High rankings aside, new Head Coach Gardiner MacDougall and GM Taylor MacDougall have even higher standards, and they start with attention to the smallest details and end with an overall commitment to excellence.
Moncton return many weapons this season — QMJHL Rookie All-Star Caleb Desnoyers, Flames draft pick Etienne Morin, sniper/captain Yoan Loshing, dangerous Vincent Collard, local star Preston Lounsbury, playmaker Julius Sumpf and goalie tandem Jacob Steinman and Keegan Warren. Add Preds prospect Dylan MacKinnon and scorer Markus Vidicek to the mix from the Halifax Mooseheads and you can see why the excitement is high in WildTown.
The Wildcats also added 2 new imports over the summer — grabbing Bruins draft pick Loke Johansson in the Import Draft & St. Louis Blues property Juraj Pekarick in a trade.
The fun starts against the Titan on Saturday night, September 28, with:
- 4PM Party on the Oval with Wild Willie, bouncy castles & face-painting by Par-T-Perfect
- Live music on stage with The Mainlanders
- 6PM outdoor Geomatrix Fire Show — 25 minutes of fire!
- Wildcats ‘JGS’ wristbands for 2,500 fans
- NEW pre-game player entrance — The Cats take to the ice in a whole way!
