GAME RECAP March 22nd: Titan beat Moncton
What a win!
The Acadie-Bathurst Titan bounced back from a three-goal deficit in the first period Friday night to crush the Wildcats by the final buzzer in Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League action. Bathurst celebrated a 7-4 victory in front of a roaring home crowd at the K.C. Irving Regional Centre.
Friday marked the final 2023-24 regular season home game for the Titan. Prior to puck drop, the team celebrated 20-year-old players, Captain Milo Roelens, and alternate captains Igor Mburanumwe and Bobby Orr. Each players family gathered at centre ice as the Titan honoured the veteran players and their hard work, dedication, and success throughout their major junior careers.
Meanwhile, Moncton scored a trio of goals in the first period and one in the second, with Bathurst netting one in the first, two in the second and four in the third period.
Vincent Collard had a pair of goals for the Wildcats and teammates Julius Sumpf and Caleb Desnoyers each had a point. On the home side, Roelens scored a hat-trick and Emile Perron, Dylan Andrews, Alexandre Lallier and Matthew McRae rounded out the rest of the points for the Titan.
The Stars of the Game went to Roelens, who was named first star, and Mburanumwe, who was named the second star.
Acadie-Bathurst is on the road tomorrow as they faceoff against the Wildcats at the Avenir Centre. Puck drop is 4 p.m.
