AUGER NAMED QMJHL’S FIRST STAR OF THE WEEK
BOUCHERVILLE, QC – The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League has announced Saint John Sea Dogs goalie Sebastien Auger has been named the first star of the week for the period of December 1st to December 7th.
The league released its three stars yesterday.
Auger, 20, made 25 saves in Saint John’s 5-1 win over the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies Friday at Harbour Station. The next night in Halifax, the Quebec City- native kicked out 37 shots – 19 in the third period alone – in a 3-1 triumph over the Mooseheads. Auger was named first star of the game.
His performance gave him a 1.00 goals-against average and .969 save percentage for the week.
It’s the third time this season Auger has been recognized as a weekly star by the QMJHL. He was second star for the week ending September 28th and first star for the week ending October 12th.
This week’s second star is Drummondville Voltigeurs forward Joey Ratelle. Victoriaville Tigres defenceman Tristan Pomerleau was named third star.
