SEA DOGS IN THE COMMUNITY: JANUARY

Players and coaches of the Saint John Sea Dogs have been busy on and off the ice this month participating in several community events.

This past Monday players attended a blood donation clinic at Canadian Blood Services as part of our annual blood drive challenge with Moncton and new participant this year, Charlottetown. Players and Fleaburn cheered on donors and rolled up their own sleeves to give in support of the #hockeygivesblood campaign. The blood drive continues until the end of January at Canadian Blood Services at 405 University Ave.

Interim Head Coach Jeff Cowan spoke to employees at Irving Oil last week on the importance of mindfulness, performance pressures and dealing with stress. This was part of an ongoing series of health and wellness events planned with Irving Oil dubbed, “Train Like A Saint John Sea Dog”.

TD sponsored a day full of hockey and fun with twelve local minor hockey teams, community teams and school groups this past weekend. Players met with teams for an on ice practice at TD Station, followed by a pizza party and dressing room tour.
